Depends on the scope of your problem

If the string is in one or two fields and they're text, then you can use lotusscript to do the replacesubstring function.

If the string is all over the place and/or in RT fields, buy TeamStudio Configurator - it is able to do search/replace in both design and documents. The product is amazing and has a very short ROI.

I am not associated with TeamStudio but have used the product for years and couldn't work without it.
